The Benefits Of Combining A Medicare Supplement With Original Medicare

Easily plan for healthcare costs

Consistent premiums in exchange for low out-of-pocket costs means more predictable healthcare expenses.

See any doctor that accepts Medicare

A Medicare Supplement is a secondary insurance designed to work with Original Medicare. Since federal Medicare remains your primary insurance, you have nationwide coverage and the freedom to see any doctor in the United States that accepts Medicare. Referrals are not required to see a specialist.

Guaranteed renewable coverage

Your coverage cannot be cancelled due to your age or health and it will remain in force as long as the premiums are paid. If you relocate in the future your supplemental insurance will move with you.

Pick up right where Medicare leaves off

Medicare by itself has no out-of-pocket limit which means you are potentially exposed to unlimited cost sharing. Filling in the gaps with a supplement enhances your coverage by helping to pay out-of-pocket health care costs not covered by Original Medicare. If a service is covered under Medicare Part A or B, it will also be covered by the supplement.

Customized drug coverage

Drug coverage is obtained through a separate plan in combination with Original Medicare and a supplement. Stand-alone drug plans can be changed annually during open enrollment so that you can select the lowest cost plan that covers the medications you are currently taking without effecting other coverages.

Standardized plans

There are 10 modernized Medicare Supplements identified by letter and every policy must follow state and federal laws. Policies must offer the same basic benefits which makes it easier to compare pricing between different insurance carriers.
